Yoga for Balance
Description: As we age, improved balance through practicing yoga can decrease the likelihood of falls and fall related injuries. Improved balance not only helps with day-to-day activities, but can also enhance performance in sports related activities such as hiking, skiing and snowboarding. In this workshop, there will be a combination of lecture and yoga practice, focusing on mind and body awareness, breath-work, posture, strength and flexibility. No previous yoga experience required. All-levels welcome!
Yoga For Low Back Pain
This workshop will focus on increasing flexibility in the back, gluteus and hamstrings while strengthening the muscles in the back and core. You will walk away with tools to manage your aches and pains at home. In this workshop, there will be a combination of lecture and yoga practice, focusing on mind and body awareness, breath-work, posture, strength and flexibility. No previous yoga experience required. All-levels welcome!
Yoga for NECK CARE, UPPER BACK & Shoulders workshop
Description: In this workshop we will move through yoga poses carefully designed to alleviate pain and promote health in the upper back, neck and shoulders. These healthy movements will help to relieve neck tension, bring good alignment and will help to heal from neck pain while increasing strength. Detailed instruction will be provided in combination with gentle repetitive movements. The focus on moving with awareness and the breath make this a great practice for a wide range of people, including those who may not have pain but can benefit from strengthening and stabilizing their necks, upper back and shoulders. This will be a part-lecture, part-asana (yoga postures) workshop with preventative, self-care and therapeutic tools that you can integrate into your daily activities. All-levels welcome!
